Teamwork and Communication:
Effective teamwork forms the core of EC’s philosophy. We foster open communication between all members and across all classes to build unity and teamwork. We share our information and experiences to help others become better informed and to become better players.
Our ability to operate as a cohesive and effective unit is what makes us successful, and we strive for consistent and efficient execution regardless of the group composition. One of the key components of good teamwork is communication; at our best, we are able to anticipate accurately the actions of our teammates in any given situation, which is an extremely powerful statement of the level of teamwork and understanding our group has achieved. We have high expectations and standards because that’s what makes it fun for us.
Camaraderie and Interaction:
In general, we are a laid-back and humorous group of players. We are able to have serious conversations and also tease and joke around without taking comments out of context and too personally. We are not always politically correct, but we will not tolerate derogatory or grossly insensitive remarks from any member. We recognize when to be casual and when to be serious.
Loot:
We consider loot to be a secondary aspect of the game, and as a reward for making defeated encounters easier. Our primary goal as a guild is to experience new encounters and to enjoy the content that is accessible to us, and the more encounters we are able to complete, the more access to loot we will have. However, accumulation of loot will never be a personal or guild objective. We are more than a collection of players coming together to earn loot, and the guild is not to be treated as a tool with which to obtain better individual gear. Being upset or disgruntled about not receiving an item goes against the core principles of EC. Distribution of loot gained from raid instances will be done by loot council. Five-person instances or old raid instances like ZG, etc. will follow a Need before Greed loot system.
Playtime/Attendance:
There are no set guidelines for playtime in EC. We respect that people have busy schedules and real-life obligations. We only ask that, if you will be offline for a significant period of time, you inform everyone so we may make contingency plans, if necessary, for any scheduled activities. We want to make the time we spend online as enjoyable as possible.
